leading off 2023—-atx music photography
ATX music thus far in 2023—- as SXSW approaches I can’t help but look back at the first bit of 2023 and wonder how this already BOOMIN’ year will hold up once the festivities officially kick off?!
The music documentary work has been so very experimental this year. It somehow managed to transport viewers to a time and space which has only stood to exist on a secondary plane. With an abundance of poppy films, hella digital grain, and a handful of household objects to prism with; I began to use a once mundane shooting environment for something which will influence future work indefinitely. Plus to my surprise I’ve managed to capture this translating feature, the one where I turn the feeling of sound into visuals. I can really only assume that this comes straight outta the subconscious.
In my post today you’ll see a lot of work out of Austin Free Week of music and some delightful shows in between.
